Ridereport

Together with Ingrid and Kurt from the Alpenbiker-Forum we wanted to ride to the big maple soil, which is especially beautiful in autumn.

Tuesday, 7.10., 9:00 am Meeting at McD in Sonthofen - that was the plan!

When I got up at 7 o'clock, I could hear the rain pouring down outside - sh... !

So I wrote in the forum: "At the moment it is raining heavily here in Sonthofen! So today there will be nothing with the maple floor"

After that I called the two passengers and cancelled!

Suddenly it stopped raining and the first rays of light could be seen in the sky.

So again I called the two passengers and asked them if we should try a little later - okay! We do!

Written in the forum: "Since the weather is slowly improving, we will start at 9:30 am! Let's have a look!"

After the other two had arrived, we left Sonthofen at about 9:45 am.

The sky had slowly cleared up and the bruises became bigger and bigger.

But the streets were still wet to wet!

First we went up to the Oberjoch - little traffic, but due to the wetness to be enjoyed with some caution.

Also the Tannheimer Tal and the Gaichtpass had little traffic and so we could enjoy the sun, which got more and more the upper hand, and the wonderful autumnal landscape.

Via Reutte we went to the Plansee.

In autumn simply a scenic dream!!!

Behind the Plansee, the road was very dirty and slippery - due to a construction site at the level of the German/Austrian border (next to the road) - and the motorcycles had to be moved carefully over this section.

The further ride towards Ammersattel and to Ettal again offered fantastic autumnal impressions - actually, one should have stopped every 100 meters and enjoyed the landscape. So we drove on rather comfortably and sucked the autumnal impressions almost into us.

Via Garmisch-Partenkirchen we quickly reached Wallgau, where the toll road to Vorderriß begins. This time, we gladly paid the 3 € for the drive (and the following 2,50 € for the toll road between Hinterriß and the Eng), as the autumn invited us to drive in full colours at the left and the right side of the road.

In Hinterriß in the Kaiserhütte we had lunch break - the Kaiserscharrn there is very recommendable - and then we went to the big maple floor.

Here we allowed ourselves an extensive walk through the beautiful landscape and were simply thrilled by the wonderful colours that autumn had brought.

After this walk we drove back to Vorderriß and then on to the Sylvensteinstausee - also all around immersed in autumnal driving!

Then the way led us over the Jachenaustrecke to the Walchensee.

On the southern shore of the lake we drove a few kilometers until we met the B 11 again, which we had left in Wallgau in the morning.

Despite the advanced hour, we allowed ourselves a cappucino break on the lakeside and then drove over the Kesselberg down to the Kochelsee.

As an exception, the route was completely free and we were able to enjoy this wonderful mountain route as far as the village of Kochel. Murnau was quickly reached and via Uffing we went past the Staffelsee to Böbing and Rottenbuch.

From there we drove directly via Steingaden, Lechbruck and Roßhaupten to Nesselwang and from there via Wertach and Rettenberg back to Sonthofen.

At about 19:30 o'clock we arrived - already in the darkness - at home.

In summary, it can be said that the large maple soil in autumn is simply a natural spectacle of the first order. When the maple trees are colorful and the mountains all around already carry the first snow it is simply breathtaking.

I can only recommend everyone to take the opportunity and see for themselves.

My thanks to the two riders who made the whole thing a special experience - together you can enjoy something so beautiful.

The whole route was dominated by autumnal colours and it was simply beautiful!
